Does anyone know where I can get just a hamster? I am a single mother on a very tight budget. My daughter will be turning 6 and she would like the zhu zhu pet hamster for her birthday but I can’t find them anywhere. Not even in any stores near me. Please HELP ME.

My daughters heart is broken. It’s people like these that are ruining my daughters birthday. This toy sells in stores for [...] piece. All of the stores are sold out because of scalpers like these. I cannot afford these outrageous prices. These people should be ashamed of themselves. The Hampsters are only [...]in stores, and are upwards of [...]here and on ebay. I am sick.

Go Go Pets Hamster Funhouse with Hamster
We saw this product in the store and it was really cute & fun. We bought it for our grandaughter, 7 yrs old. When we got home, we tried everything to get it to work like in the store. All it would do was chatter & make other noises, but wouldn’t run around within the confines of its area. So needless to say, we aren’t very happy with it & plan to take it back to the store the next time we make it to the big city where we got it.

This is such a cute toy! Sure, the plastic isn’t of the highest quality, but children enjoy the set and the original retail price is very reasonable. The funhouse, which is really the base for the entire Zhu Zhu world, consists of two circular rooms and a “hallway” (or tunnel) which connects them. The tunnel has grooves on it that cause the hamster to make various sounds… doorbell/knocking sounds for the bedroom and splashing/gurgling sounds for the bathroom. The floor is printed with images of blankets, hamster food, a sink, and other such essentials. Our little one loves to pretend that she is giving the hamster a bath or tucking it into bed.
The little hamster that comes with the set, Patches, is very sweet and cuddly. She FLEW across our hardwood floor once we changed the batteries, so keep in mind that the original batteries are really for store use only, and don’t be alarmed if your hamster seems a little sluggish; a new set of batteries will perk it right up. You really only need one hamster to enjoy the set, but it’s hysterical to put in two or more at the same time – they’ll bounce off of each other and chatter together. Best of all, a simple press to the hamster’s back turns it off. Try that with a real pet!

My 6 year old son saw this toy and very much wanted it. Believing the ads about the toy we purchased it. When we got it and set it up we realized that the toy did nothing! The little hampster gets stuck in the tubes, it doesn’t behave like a real one and all it does is go back and forth. For the excessive price of this toy we expected a lot more. It is completely over priced and really was an unbelievable waste of money. We are sending it back as quickly as we can.
