This is a cute phone but had a few issues with it. It is somewhat difficult for little fingers to get open, therefore making a child mad. An adult would have to open the phone for the child. Also, could not figure how to keep the volume on the phone to stay on the loud mode upon removing the volume tag that was attached to it. I ended up tearing off the tiny tag inside the phone to keep the volume up, as when you removed the tag to use the flip can phone for the child, the volume became so low, you could not hear the phone singing, talking, ringing.

Awful. It says on the box that once you remove it the sound decreases… it’s so low though that there is no way it grabs the attention of any child. This is a really really bad and boring toy. Do NOT buy this thing.

There is a warning on the box that says the volume is less than the demo level for safety reasons.. My daughter could not even hear it! I tried new batteries; that did not help. Also, the “soup can” that is so charming on the show just opens up to reveal your basic toy flip phone, nothing like the show at all. Silly and non-fun.

My son got this toy for his first birthday. Yes the volume does decrease dramatically however its a phone. When you hold other toy phones to your ear it blasts noise in your ear and you never actually use it as a phone. You actually can use this toy as a phone. Personally I commend the designers for this! Finally a toy phone that can be used as a toy phone!

I agree that it’s difficult to hold a one year olds attention, unless you are playing with them and showing them how to use the toy. Maybe it’s better for preschool age when they already understand the concept of a phone.

My son has enough loud noisy toys. I kept the phone and happily play phone with my son, feeling safe that it wont damage his ear drums.

We purchased this for our son (Easter) and when we first tried it we thought it was a great concept (and it was loud). After pulling out the tab on the back to put it in normal play mode you can barely hear it and there is no way to get the volume back. I think it should have a volume option like most toys because unless you are a Wonder Pet with supersonic hearing you will not hear this phone in normal play mode.
